CATCHLIGHT STUDIO – HIRE AGREEMENT

1. HEALTH AND SAFETY

Catchlight Studio makes every effort to ensure that the studio and its equipment are in a safe and suitable condition. If the studio is not in a clean and acceptable condition, please notify us immediately. If any equipment is not working, or you are having problems, you must notify us immediately – DO NOT force things, and do not unscrew things without knowing what you are doing. All equipment and accessories must be treated with care and respect.

2. INSURANCE

It is up to you to have your own liability insurance for any personal injury, loss or damage caused to any person you bring into the studio. Catchlight Studio will incur no liability whatsoever for any such personal injury, loss or damage no matter how arising during your rental and use of the studio and its equipment. You are totally responsible for your own safety and for the health and safety of those who you bring into the studio with you. Children must be supervised at all times. If you find anything in a dangerous condition, including fixtures and fittings, you must notify us immediately, and cease use of the offending equipment or area.

3. USE OF EQUIPMENT

You must not remove any equipment or accessories from the Studio at any time. You must not modify or alter equipment, nor use any equipment otherwise than in the manner for which it was designed. Any and all breakages must be notified to Catchlight Studio on the day, and you will be responsible for any repair/replacement costs. Under no circumstances must equipment or accessories be used by any person who is untrained or unauthorised. Any loss or damage caused by any person brought into the studio during your period of hire, will be treated as loss or damage caused by you, the hirer, and you will be responsible for same.

4. THE WHITE STAGE

Shoes must not be worn when walking on the white stage background, other than by the person being photographed – and only then if it is essential. Treat the white stage with care and respect. You will be responsible for repainting/repair costs if the surface of the stage is damaged beyond what is regarded as normal wear and tear. In particular, metal light stands are NOT to be positioned on the stage at any time. Any equipment placed onto the white stage must be lifted, not dragged, in order to avoid incurring costs for re-painting.

5. TAKE DOWN TIME

You must allow for reasonable ‘take down time’ at the end of your rental period. Everything must be put back where it belongs, and the studio must be left in the same condition as you found it. There is a bin at the makeup counter – please use it for all your rubbish. No rubbish should be discarded or left in the studio unless put in the bin provided. All electricity outlets must be switched off. If you over-run your time, additional hire charges will be incurred at the rate of £15 for every half hour, or part thereof.

6. PROPS & CLOTHING

The Studio keeps a collection of clothing and accessories in drawers in the studio. These are NOT for your use without prior agreement. The drawers and their contents are private.
The tea/coffee/kettle facilities are NOT for use by hirers. There is a coffee shop downstairs at Doorsteps on the ground floor.

7. CANCELLATION

If you cancel less than 3 days prior to the agreed hire period, you are responsible for the full studio hire. Earlier cancellations will be refunded in full.

If you are in breach of any of the terms herein, or otherwise use the studio or its equipment in a manner deemed inappropriate or unsafe, we have the right to terminate your hire period forthwith, and you will not be entitled to a refund. Payment must be made in full prior to the start of the hire period. Bookings are not considered final, until or unless payment has been made.

I have read and understood the content of these terms and conditions. By signing my name hereunder, I agree to be bound by the foregoing terms and conditions, and I understand that I am entering into a legally binding contract.
